My love for photography began about 12 years ago. While serving in the Army I asked for a camera before deploying to Kosovo. Unfortunately, the rigors of the military came before my passion for photography, so on hold it went. 8 years later, the birth of my daughter gave me cause to pick up a camera again. While awaiting Tessa’s arrival I began shooting whatever I could just to learn the digital format and become familiar with the camera. It was that learning process that reignited the flame that went out some time ago.
I began to shoot anything and everything I could, and while Tess is by far my favorite subject I can’t get enough of landscape and cityscape. I was originally going to do a showcase on Spring, but while in NYC for some Christmas shopping I photographed someone playing a sax on 5th Avenue. After seeing that photo I realized that street and subway musicians was where this project was heading. I hope I can relay my passion for photography as well as the performers’ passion for their music through these photos.

After graduating from Mount Holyoke College and working in big law firm in both NYC and Hong Kong, I decided to go back to art school to follow the career I truly wanted. I attended the School of Visual Arts in New York and have been working as an artist ever since. I enjoy doing nonconventional portrait commissions of children and animals, boats and abstract landscapes. I’ve shown my work in New York, DC, Florida, Virginia and Connecticut and I’m often surprised by the interesting places my paintings end up going to. Although I’ve moved around a lot over the years I always seem to end up back in my home town, Darien. When I’m not working on my art, which is rare, you might see me walking the dogs, going for a swim in the Sound, or heading in to the city to visit galleries with friends.
